For almost thirty years my artistic research has been based on the concept of the binary tree: a mathematical structure that grows exponentially to infinity by forking.
This sculpture is an iconic work related to Computer Science since all algorithms, software and apps we normally use, will be eventually translated into machine language, each number being represented in binary code. This piece could also be seen as a symbol of growth, complexity and interdependence of phenomena.
The color Lilac is informed by 7th Chakra, the energy point located at the top of our head, which represents our connection to the Universe, to the Divine. When you are able to connect with “Something greater than us”, through meditation, psychotherapy or personal growth, you may experience a sense of connection, love, contentment and trust. Being able to prove that “Everything I need is already there” generates an enormous psychological sense of well-being.
